Hi, I am Lou and I have owned and successfully run my own dog walking business previously for 4 years, then I had to hang up my lead and collar and retire to have a baby! But missed it so much that I have decided to start again!
I have always had an interest in animals and so spent a lot of time both keeping them as pets and also studying them. I have completed an HND in Animal Care and a BSc in Animal Science, I have also completed numerous CPD courses including Dog First Aid, Dog walking and pet sitting and a Canine Behaviour and Training course.
I have also been a dog fosterer for a charity in Cornwall where I looked after and rehabilitated dogs that sometimes had not had the best start in life, I was also responsible for home checking the dogs in my care, that was always tough! As nowhere ever felt good enough!
Although it was an amazing experience and so great seeing a dog go to its new home, it was also extremely sad and heart-breaking saying goodbye! I am definitely not good at those when it comes to my furry companions. However, I am still in touch with all the dogs I have fostered! So, I know how they are getting on.
So, what about me as a dog walker? I appreciate that dogs are all so different and no one dog is the same, so each dog needs its own personal and bespoke walk and general care. Who doesn’t own a dog who doesn’t have its own eccentricities??I know my three are all very induvial and unique characters so I have to make sure I cater for them all! Its tiring and expensive at times but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
What does ‘This Way’ offer?
I offer a pickup and drop off service around Bognor Regis and the surrounding area.
I like to add variety by going to different places in our local area. This could include fields, the beach, local walking areas and if you require a more secure dog walk, I can offer a fully enclosed dog walking field to make sure your dog gets the full hour it needs. If there are any needs or requirements for your dog whilst out on a walk, then let me know! I will always try and accommodate them as I know how important it is to make sure you feel comfortable when your dog is out walking – especially with someone else.
